What we have discovered at Rio Bravo is when you get your “Church, Youth Group, Community or Family” involved in missions a mutual life-changing event happens in the lives of both “the ministered and the ministering.”

The cost is $500 per person, which covers your food and lodging while you are with us.
As early as you can. Many weeks on our calendar are already booked. Once you have a target window, reach out and we will tell you what is still open.
The U.S. State Department often has a Level 4 advisory in place for Reynosa. That advisory is standard for this region — Reynosa sits on a major drug and human trafficking corridor. Here is our experience: in all the decades we have been operating, we have never had an instance of cartel violence against a mission team, and our campus has never had an incident of violence. We cross at the Anzalduas Bridge, travel only to known areas, and teams stay on campus the majority of the time. If there is a city-wide problem, we tell your group before you come. If safety is the question standing between your church and a trip, call us and we will talk it through.
A passport is the best option, and we recommend everyone travel with one. To re-enter the United States by land, adults 16 and older need a passport, passport card, Enhanced Driver’s License, or a Trusted Traveler card such as SENTRI. A standard driver’s license or a birth certificate on its own is not enough for adults. Youth under 19 traveling with a church, school, or other youth group need only a birth certificate. If you are not sure what you have, contact us before you book and we will help you sort it out.
No on both counts. You do not need to speak Spanish, and you do not need to bring interpreters — we handle translation for your team. If someone on your team does speak Spanish, that is a bonus, not a requirement.
Yes. Construction is only part of what teams do. Volunteers also help in the school’s English classes, serve alongside our partner churches, and lead activities for the children in the home. There is meaningful work here for every skill set.
Yes. Many families have come down on their own. We like to pair them with a church group already scheduled that week so you have a team to serve alongside.
